Lexie Sachs

Textiles Product Analyst

How long she’s been at GHI: Since 2013
What she does: Lexie researches, tests, and reports on products in the Textiles, Paper & Plastics Lab. You can find her testing everything from apparel, to home furnishings, to disposable paper goods. She reviews these products for editorial consideration and evaluation for the Good Housekeeping Seal and Green Good Housekeeping Seal programs. Lexie stays up to date on product introductions by meeting with textile manufacturers and attending industry events.
Her background: Lexie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Fiber Science from Cornell University. Through her studies, she gained an expertise on all aspects of textiles: from the individual fibers, to textile production, to retail business. Before joining GHI, Lexie spent several years working in merchandising and product development in both the fashion and home product industries.
Outside of GHI: Lexie loves to shop for all things textile and is always searching for the best deals and discounts (she almost never pays full price for anything!). She spends her free time going to barre workout classes, trying out nail polish trends, and walking around New York City with her dog, Mimosa.
Why she loves her job: Everyday she gets to mix her favorite interests: science, creativity, and finding the best consumer goods.
Her #1 piece of textile advice: Always check the fiber and care labels on clothing before you buy. This provides you with a lot of information that could save you a headache later!
