Poetry readers know there's nothing so lovely as a tree. So, of course, do photographers. An exhibition of some 60 photographs of trees, organized by the Magnum Foundation, is on view at 25CPW, an artists' space on Manhattan's Upper West Side. The prints range in price from $125 to $15,000, and proceeds go to Green World Campaign, a nonprofit organization that plants trees in deforested, poor regions in India, Ethiopia, Kenya, and the Philippines. Works by Magnum photographers such as Bruce Davidson (shown) and Alec Soth are included, as well as images by lesser-known artists selected from an online contest.
