Everyone knows it's easy to remodel a room when you have a big budget to work with, but one homeowner is proving that you don't need tons of time or thousands of dollars to create a beautiful new kitchen.
This kitchen transformation legitimately made our jaws drop, and it's all thanks to a few quick fixes completed by homeowner Wendy Gimour and her father-in-law over the course of 30 hours, she revealed on her blog . And here's the most impressive part: the entire project cost just $547.
Before, the kitchen was filled with dated tile and dark cabinetry that made the small kitchen feel even tinier. But overall, it was nothing a little paint and fresh decals couldn't fix!
After the duo painted the kitchen cabinets in a light and airy shade of white chalk paint, Wendy added decorative and inexpensive tile "stickers" (yes, stickers!) to the backsplash. The cheap peal and stick decorations from made for a fast transformation.
Lastly, Wendy and her father-in-law overhauled the kitchen with one final touch: a revamped kitchen island. Instead of gutting the old one and replacing it, they simply covered the existing one with a coat of concrete to give it a more neutral, modern look with eye-catching texture. Now, the room looks like an entirely new kitchen.
