This morning on , Chip and Joanna Gaines opened up in their first TV interview together since announcing that the next season of Fixer Upper will be their last. While their decision to end their hit HGTV show sparked many rumors about marriage troubles, Chip told Savannah Guthrie that those rumors aren't entirely unfounded.
But before you declare that love is dead, Chip confirmed that, "We're as healthy as we've ever been." However, they did end Fixer Upper over worries about what the show could do to their relationship if they didn't take a break now.
"Look I'll give them a little credence," Chip said about the relationship rumors. "The most important thing in the world is Jo and I's relationship, followed very quickly by these four beautiful kids. We didn't want to push it, to redline it for so long that we woke up and realized we are at a point of no return. So, we wanted to take a step back and focus on what is absolutely the most important thing to us."
While they couldn't say whether or not they would ever return to television, Chip and Joanna said they had no regrets about filming Fixer Upper in the first place and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
"It was a joy. It was a pleasure," Chip said.
