Another HGTV Star Was Just Hit With A Major Lawsuit

She's being accused of using defective furniture.

You may recognize Meredith Baer from , which followed the professional home stager as she redecorated high-end homes for sale in Los Angeles. While you'd expect this real estate pro to furnish homes with high-quality, luxury pieces, a recent lawsuit claims otherwise.

Adam Piekarski hired Meredith Baer Home, , to decorate his Manhattan apartment. He says the company's fee was high—$55,000 a $4,500 monthly rental fee—so Adam assumed his home would be filled with high-end furniture.

However, when Adam went to inspect his apartment, he realized the furniture was "defective." According to Adam, he attempted to Meredith Baer Home to ask for a refund, but the company wouldn't return his calls. He then filed a lawsuit with Manhattan Supreme Court, asking for $1.32 million for a refund and punitive damages. , Meredith Baer Home is standing behind their work.

While this case is not directly connected to HGTV or the show Staged to Perfection, Meredith isn't the first HGTV star to be hit with a lawsuit this year.
