In Florence, it's always spring. One of the main attractions at the Uffizi Gallery is Botticelli's masterpiece La Primavera (1481), a grand painting commissioned by the Medicis to be displayed in one of their private residences. It's an allegorical image depicting mythical figures from antiquity including Venus, Zephyr, Chloris, and a comically blindfolded Cupid firing his arrows into a trio of Graces.

La Primavera is the quintessential Italian Renaissance icon and being that , where I'm the bar manager, is itself a masterpiece of the period, (The facade dates back to the 16th century and is rumored to have been designed by Michelangelo) I wanted to connect our serene perch, in the hills of Fiesole, to what I consider the greatest painting of its time.

La Primavera
1 1/2 oz. Grey Goose vodka
1 oz. chamomile syrup
1 tsp each orange and ginger sorbets
Rose water ice ball

Garnish with dried red rose
