It was already annoucned that the couple, who have been together for more than seven years, will hold their inside St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, but Vanity Fair, the newlyweds will make their way to another venue to continue their festivities later that evening. After walking down the aisle and saying their vows, will reportedly hold a nighttime reception at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
WHAT IS THE ROYAL LODGE?
The Royal Lodge, which is located 3 miles south of Windsor Castle, is where the York family currently resides, making Eugenie's celebration the closest the royals will ever come to hosting a backyard wedding.
the Express, the property was originally built in 1662 but was heavily remodeled in the 1830s. Prior to the York family's occupancy,lived in the Royal Lodge until she passed away in 2002. The lavish estate was refurbished once more in 2004 right before the Yorks officially moved in.
WHO IS HOSTING THE EVENT?
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have been very involved in the planning of their wedding day, but Vanity Fair also shared that Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York are helping to organize the evening reception.
Earlier this year, the royal family paid for the core aspects of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding and they are once again expected to pitch in for at least some of the costs of Eugenie's event. The rest of thewill reportedly be split between Princess Eugenie's parents.
WHAT WILL THE RECEPTION BE LIKE?
Despite the property's numerous renovations, gorgeous details of the 1820s architecture still remain prevalent throughout the Lodge. According to the , there's even a gothic saloon which features a "stunning nature inspired design, with green painted walls and a lighter green ceiling."
As far as the evening celebrations go, an anonymous source who is helping with the special event Vanity Fair, "The plan is for a marquee to be set up in the grounds and dancing late into the night." Another notable detail shared is that "Sarah is bringing a very eclectic and exciting guest list to Windsor."
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM MEGHAN AND HARRY'S WEDDING?
While Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will tie the knot in the same venue that, there are a few key differences between these two celebrations. Unlike the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding, Eugenie and Jack will likely have a much smaller guest list.
Harry and Meghan also held their rather exclusive evening reception in, an official royal residence not far from Windsor Castle, where they invited about 200 guests. The venue choice was also where the two took their engagement photos.
