The report analyzed data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the American Housing Survey, and the U.S. Census Bureau to rank cities based on mucky factors, including the number of homes with cockroaches and rats, air pollution severity, and population density.

NYC was the grossest overall city with a dirtiness index of 427.9, and it also ranked number one for most litter, most pests, and most people.

Los Angeles was ranked the second grimiest city with a dirtiness index of 317.8, but it’s still a lot cleaner (and sunnier) than New York. It has half the pests and almost half the litter.

But both and I agree that NYC’s pizza is better, so really who is the winner here?
